Founded in 1913 on 2nd and Broadway in the city of Cincinnati, John Doran began making ice and coal deliveries from his store to local residents with a single horse and wagon. In time sons John, Richard, Ray, Carl and Robert joined their father in the family business. As time went by the brothers each purchased their own trucks and began branching out. By the 1920's they had collectively acquired a small fleet which primarily hauled goods from river and rail depots throughout the city. Ray leased his truck to the National Buiscuit Company. Richard and Ray partnered and formed Doran Transfer. During this time Rich became intrigued with the rigging business leading to his acquisition of American Rigging on Lock Street and Doran Transfer & Rigging was born.
From this modest beginning Doran has evolved into a highly respected crane rental & industrial rigging company by solving complicated machinery installations and plant relocations in the midwest for four generations. Our family is proud to have been a part of Cincinnati’s history and we look forward to providing you with the same dedicated service in the future as John Doran provided to the local residents of 2nd and Broadway.
